Weston is 4 months old!
It has been an action packed month for our little man. He has been part and parcel to all of the
adventures the family has been on and gone from Oregon to Wisconsin to New
Zealand. Through all of this, he has
been a trooper!
His fourth month of life started off with a trip to
Wisconsin. We visited with friends and
then headed out to the farm, where uncle Patrick laid out a delicious lunch as
well as Grandma Weis’ house where he got a LOT of grandma snuggles. We then headed into Madison to visit with
Kelly, Chad, Paige, Jordyn and new cousin Clay!
Wes got to visit with the chickens, meet his cousins, enjoy a movie night
and hang out at the lake. The trip to New Zealand is detailed in the other
parts of the blog.
Wes, this month, has made some big developmental
strides. He is able to be awake and
interactive with the world for long stretches and, after a cold early in the
month, is really happy during this time.
He is napping about three times a day and while he takes a good sleep at
the beginning of the night, it is hard to get him really back asleep after
about 1 or 2 in the morning. Given that
we have been in the camper van for most of this this month – Crystal has really
taken the brunt of this sleeping pattern.
He is starting to try and stand up and often, if you hold
his hands, can balance for a minute or two. He is very curious about the world
and we now have to figure out if he is crying because he is hungry, tired,
cold, wet or just plain bored and wants to see more interesting things. The haka in New Zealand brought huge eyes, he loved it! He is
SUPER ticklish and has the most amazing smile and little laugh when you sing
him songs and tickle his belly. HE has nothing but smiles for his big sister –
even when she is trying to smack him in the face. When he does get angry,
however, it is in a flash and he gets REALLY mad. Everything goes along really well until – BAM
– he is super mad.
He has made the transition this month to being able to sleep
in the car. At the beginning of the
month, he screamed non-stop in the car and it was really difficult to get him
to calm down. Thank goodness this changed for our road trip in New Zealand. Given that we are on a
month-long motor home trip, this last bit has been key for net family happiness. There is NOT STOPPING when Wes is asleep – no matter
how bad you have to pee or how good the view is.
