Wes 7 months!

What a big kid Wes is these days!  Earlier last month we did sleep training and it REALLY helped everyone's sanity.  We are now getting TEETH!  Which is amazing but not great for sleep, he is back to waking very 2-3 hours :(  We now have 1.5 teeth, that second bottom front tooth is just making its way out to the world!

Wes is full on rolling now, mostly from back to front.  As of about 1 week ago, if you set him to sleep on his back, he rolls to his front faster than you can get out of the room!  We suspected he wanted to sleep on his belly and he LOVES it.  He is also mastering being up on all 4's...you can often find him practicing in his crib at night.

He continues to HATE being hungry, wet diapers or being tired.  Where as Elliot had a great "old man laugh" we will always remember Wes' high pitch scream!  It can be happy, fussy or mad, but man that scream would get anyone's attention.

Mac is convinced Wes already said dada.  I am not so convinced.  There is ALOT of babbling going on though.

Wes LOVES food.  It is amazing how much he is eating already.  The only thing he hasn't liked is ground chicken, literally he gagged himself.  If you don't bring the food fast enough, you are lucky enough to hear his scream.

He continues to be SUPER ticklish and have a smile/laugh that will melt your heart.  Between the ocean blue eyes, the small dimples and lovely smile, it is hard not to forgive the sleeping and screaming.  He really is the most ticklish kid I have ever met!

Wes Likes:
-Smiles
-Tickles
-FOOD

Wes Dislikes:
-Ground chicken (even the good stuff, homemade with some flavor!)
-Wet diapers
-Big sister bites (oops)

New developments:
-Sleeping on his tummy and rolling
-Babbling
-Bringing objects very easily and clearly to his mouth including food.

What the hell mom!

Winter and Christmas 2017

December and the beginning of January flew by.  I guess this is the theme for the last few years, time flies and all of a sudden the kids are getting so big!  Isn't that what everyone says.  With no childcare in December or early January while we were both starting jobs and working full time, it got tricky.  Thank goodness for amazing grandparents who came to help us out and visit.  Grandma Weis came in early December and the Grandma and Grandpa Cook came over Christmas.  Elliot LOVES cuddling up with grandparents reading books and Weston alternates between screaming and sharing his lovely smile and amazing laugh.  Both of us starting new jobs proved to be great but also a bit chaotic, while balancing kids and house projects.  Many house projects are in the works, including LOTS of painting to brighten up the basement, hallway, powder room.  Things are really starting to feel like home.  We were blessed to spend the our first Christmas in our home.  We got our first real tree, but it took 3 tree lots to find it between going 1 week before Christmas and an apparent "tree shortage."  Luckily after the 3rd stop, we found just the right one.  Elliot was a huge fan of "cranberry" our Elf on the shelf.  Of course, she also loved presents ;)

We enjoyed our first family trip to the mountain and we are teaching Elliot that skiing is fun.  "faster faster" was screamed as mom or dad held her between there knees going doing the hill.  Dad got mom and Elliot matching super hero costumes for Christmas.  Elliot also fell in love with the nutcracker this year.  She had a book, got a stage with wood dancers and got to see the ballet with mom!  She asks for us to play the "spinning dancer" music constantly and constantly puts on shows and shows us her spins!  Wes is babbling, rolling and and all around giggly guy most of the time, up date on his development soon in the 7 month post!

We had a great holiday season and are just settling back into real life.  Our Au Pair Jessica arrived on January 9th.  We are getting her up to speed and excited for some much needed respite to sleep and get things done after balancing so much over the past few months.

Work hard, play hard.
Sleep is for the dead.
