Wes is 2 weeks old!

Wes is now 2 weeks old and everyone is adjusting nicely!

Grandma Weis was here for a week and half and was a huge help around the house.  Grandma Cook arrives tomorrow, we are blessed to have so much help!

Elliot is adjusting to life with "baby Ves."  She is getting gentler with him and starting to think he is old news :)  She can now sing all of twinkle twinkle little star and good parts of ABC's, row row row your boat and you are my sunshine.  When you read her favorite books, she tells you what is coming next and finishes your sentences.  She counts to 10 and often counts out her food/berries!  It is amazing to see her little mind grow and see her learning so fast!  She is a sponge!

Wes is continuing to be a great sleeper!  I have had to wake him up to eat at 4 and 5 hours the last few nights because he is still sleeping!  Mornings are nap after nap, evenings are cluster feeding until bedtime.  I would say that we have gotten into a nice rhythm around here.  He is very expressive when he sleeps, he laughs, he cries and has all sorts of emotions!

We had a family water balloon fight with, I was wearing Wes which worked to my advantage that no-one could get me wet.  Dad and Elli went on a hike, giving mom some snuggle Wes time.  The Seattle wading pools opened which allowed Elliot to enjoy the heat at the pool.  We went strawberry picking again with grandma Weis which included Elliot having an emergency pee in a corn field...shhh don't tell.  We even made a trip down to PDX to house hunt while G-ma Weis entertained Elli in Seattle.  Wes is quite a trooper!  No house yet :(  Elliot is ready she keeps saying "new house?" to us.

All in all an action packed few weeks filled with adventures, snuggles and family time.

Madison wants to be in the center of things.

Things change fast around here.

Here come the water balloons!

Family of 4!

While life is busy, it has been such an amazing blessing.  With lots of help around the house, the first week went really well.

As expected the first night home, second night of life, was rough.  As expected, Wes had his days and nights confused for a little bit and didn't want to be put down keeping mom and dad up at night.  After a few days though, turns out Wes LOVES his sleep.  We actually had to start setting an alarm because for the first week we wanted to make sure he ate every 3 hours.  He also loves the car and his car seat.  Wes is a VERY different baby then Elliot was, thank goodness we had them in this order!  The boy loves eating and sleeping, that is pretty much all he needs :)  He often makes an adorable pouty lip on the bottom and started doing this the first day he was born.  His hands are always up by his face and he loves sucking on his fingers and if we give it to him, a NUK.  Wes had a bit of jaundice in the face and eyes, luckily nothing he needed treatment for.

The week has been filled with getting Elliot on lots of adventures, snuggling, naps.  Grandma Weis has been an amazing help to get Elliot some individual time and attention and us some sleep.  We have been to wading pools, the splash pad, Remlinger farms where she road her first rides and roller coaster, the zoo and LOTS of adventures.

Elliot is still IN LOVE with "baby brother" which is slowly transitioning to "Ves" since she can't pronounce the W.  Her favorite new phrase is "hold baby brother."  This usually comes out pretty demanding.  When Wes lets out his baby sqeeks she often repeats them back to him and gets a good giggle out of it.  She often likes to announce to the world when he has a "poopy" as well.  She is greatly upset when he cries and often looks at us with sad eyes saying "baby sad, baby crying" while also giving us the look like "parents, why the **** are you not doing anything about this."  She likes to be a part of every diaper and clothing change.  We are however having to be very careful as her other favorite things to do are: pry his eyes open or gouge his eye out, place her baby doll forcefully on top of him, pull him towards her, dig her fingers into the soft spot of his head, put food in his mouth to feed him, and give him BIG hugs!!!  We have caught her bundling her baby Zoe and even trying to nurse him haha.

The dogs are enjoying all the snuggles as well
