One year old!
Where did the year go?
Elli is a beautiful, energetic, adventurous little monkey. She keeps us on our toes. She is now walking with one finger assist and will stand on her own for a few seconds before she realizes what she is doing at sits back down. Her bear crawl is truly a site to see - she moves FAST!. She now has a few words...Hi, mom, dad, doggie. She has been practicing her "hi" for the past few weeks and will occasionally say "Hi doggie" when Madison or Cooper walks in. She continues to be our good eater and has recently developed quite the love of watermelon.
We were able to travel to Maine/Boston earlier in the month. Crystal was sick before leaving. Elli got the nickname Typhoid Elli because everyone who came in contact with her that week got sick :( We were able to enjoy time at Cooks Camp and Elli went to her first major league baseball game at Fenway. She was quite the trooper through a long flight and a big time zone change. She seems to do pretty well with all of the disruption!
Grandma and Grandpa Cook as well as Grandma Weis and Uncle Eric were able to come out to Oregon for Elliot's 1st Birthday party. It was a laid back get together to celebrate 1 year with Elli and surviving parenthood! The party theme was confetti. Grandma Weis made special one year old cookies cookies and Grandma Cook make a baby specific smash cake. Elliot carefully picked all the blueberries off and then licked the whipped cream - less smashing and more carefully selecting her bites....oh well.
