Fiona is 1!

And just like that....Fiona is 1 year old!

Fiona has been a champ though all these changes with Corona Virus.  She has had a much different experience than the other 2 kids in her time from 6 months to 1 year old.  For months there she didn't really leave our house/neighborhood.  At one point we put her back in the car seat and realized how much she had grown since her last car ride.  Her 1 year birthday party had to turn virtual, but grandparents, aunts and uncles all got to sing to her and see her cake smash.

Fiona is full of personality. She is constantly trying to keep up with her big siblings and she is holding her own.  She has a fire inside her that will be amazing to watch grow...watch out world.  Big brother Wes sometimes thinks he can steal a toy from her, but watch out, she holds her own.

I have had a few moments of thinking "is this baby a genius."  But I know all parents say that.  We will talk about leaving the house and then next thing you know Fiona is bringing you her shoes from the front closet and sitting down for you to put them on.  Or you will turn around after dinner and she has cleared her plate to the sink just like Elli and Wes.  You can see how proud she is to be imitating the behaviors of the bigger kids...lets hope we can keep it to good behaviors!

The words she can say are growing day to day.  The first was Dada, then hi, Mama (usually only said when she is angry and it sounds like a mad drunk german is yelling at me), Elli, Andy (for Andrea our au pair).  No Wes yet.

Fiona started trying to walk around 11 months and started full walking a week before her 1st birthday.  Her fine and gross motors skills are great!  She definitely wants to keep up with the big kids.

She finally sleeps through the night most nights.  She loves being in the water and swimming.  We are at the stage with her learning to walk, that she eats more than the older kids.  She prefers her carbs and dairy for food.  Mostly she wants cheese, pasta and fruit (I see her point).  Zucchini and squash are up there too.  Eggs on the other hand....she will pick them out and through them to the dogs.  Its amazing out her fine motor skills come out to pick out the foods she does not like.

Overall she is an easy going baby with a chill laid back attitude....until you mess with her....then you bring out the furry :)  Her hair seems to be strawberry blonde so the name Fiona is definitely fitting still.

Fiona likes:

Carbs and cheese

Being held upside down and swung all over

Swimming

Playing with her siblings

Sandbox

Stealing green tomatoes of the plant and trying to choke on them :(

Fiona Dislikes:

Big siblings taking things from her

Dogs bumping her

Not getting to do all the things big siblings get to do

Developments:

WALKING!!!!

So many new words
