2nd and 3rd Week!

The first 3 weeks has flown by!  Elli is changing every day.  She is loving walks in the carriers, however refuses the car seat or stroller.  She is sleeping a bit better at night in periods of 2-3 hours.  It is amazing to watch her explore her environment, looking around, starting to track lights and now even faces.  When she is fussy so has no interest in lullabies or rocking, she wants to be bounced!  At least its a great work out!

Grandma and Grandpa Cook came into town.  It was great to have them here to meet Elliot and they were a HUGE help.  We had lots of fun adventures.

Madison and Cooper love to snuggle with Elli.

Elli loves to make fish faces!

Elliot went to her second winery this week.  Picnicing outdoors while wine tasting seems like the perfect recovery and newborn activity!  This time we visited Anne Amie with Grandma and Grandpa Cook.

Another fish face.

We love bath time!

Portland Rose Gardens.  They were in full bloom.

And now Elliot is 3 weeks old!!!

First week!

What a whirl wind!  The first week flew by.  Grandma Weis was still in town and a huge help.  Uncle Eric came in from Denver, Uncle Patrick came up from Corvalis, and Aunt Kelly came in from Wisconsin.  Elli definitely has alot of people who love her!  We were able to go to the farmers market to visit Patrick at work as well as head to a winery for a picnic.  Yes Elli went to her first winery, Penner Ash, at 1 week old!  Elli hates the car seat but LOVES the "boba" baby carrier.  She also LOVES being held and screams bloody murder if you put her down.

Life is good!

Does it get better?  Having a blast meeting Elli and discovering who she is!  We had our first appointment on Day 4 of life with the Mother Baby Clinic.

Its a full house.  Mac, Crystal, Elliot, Madison and Cooper.

Madison has been doing great with Elliot.  She pretty much just ignores her.  Cooper is much more curious, always following around where Elli is, wanting to sniff her.

Loving it!

The night Elli was born we were exhausted!  We couldn't even think about baby names, we were beat.  We went to bed by 8 pm.  Elli did very well overnight and woke up the next morning with much more energy.  The next morning we were confident that her name was Elliot "Elli" Cascade Cook.  I was feeling well and Elli was doing well.  We had to wait for 24 hour from birth for blood tests and a bilirubin level, but then were released from the hospital.

It was a cloudy cool day.  Grandma Weis awaited us at home with Madison and Cooper, our fur-children, in the backyard to let us enter without excited dogs running at us.  The dogs did great.  We had an uneventful first night at home.  It wasn't until the following nights that Elli decided she wanted to be held at all times and refused to sleep laying flat or out of our arms.  We were even able to go on our first family "adventure" with a walk around the neighborhood day 4 of life...I know HUGE adventure!

My first bath.

Getting dressed to get home.

Relaxing on the drive home.

Our first day home.  Sporting the "welcome to the world" onsie.

Our first family "adventure."  A walk around the neighborhood.
